David Wilde es originario de Malvern, una comunidad minera en el sur del País de Gales. Desde 1984 ha sido investigador independiente con base en la Universidad de Nuevo México, en Albuquerque. Ha escrito sobre temas tan diversos como la historia del suroeste y las biografías de varios personajes locales. Entre sus poemarios se destacan Teabags from England, Leaves of Flame, Tent Poems, Rain Poems y, en 2007, Obras Incompletas: Pictures from Nowhere. Reside en Albuquerque.
